Brent Hagood, owner of Tech Tool Supply, transformed one of his loves into a booming business. "I have always loved tools, especially tools that are job specific," Brent remembers. "I believe efficiency on jobsites starts with having the right tools for the job." The same can be said about having the right tools for an online business. Tech Tool Supply started as a small auction store that offered about 15 items. "At that time, I was still working in the field 45 to 50 hours per week as a low voltage installer," says Brent. "When Tech Tool Supply initially started, my store only occupied a few hours a night outside of my normal job." Soon orders began to increase regularly, and Brent's store was taking up all his free time. It was then that he decided to take the plunge into an e-commerce store with MonsterCommerce. "I remember it being a scary step, but looking back, I wish I would have taken it a lot earlier. We applied our same business practices with MonsterCommerce and the momentum continued. Eventually I had to quit my job and invest 100% of my time in running the business," Brent recalls. "My wife was ready to kill me, but it was definitely the right choice!"
Brent's college background and basic knowledge of HTML has aided him in setting up a successful storefront, and MonsterCommerce has made it easy to manage the adding and organizing of products and sales. Our business more than doubled within the first four months of opening our e-commerce site, and business has continued to grow every day since," states Brent. "We're in our second building, but we're busting at the seams with inventory and have run out of space for new employees. But I'm not complaining - it's a great problem to have!"
